Important results from the project

The purpose of the project has been to develop an Energy Club SaaS-plattform in close collaboration with Lantbrukarnas Riksförbund (LRF). The Energy Club is a virtual distribution network where the club members have convenient access to local energy distribution from agriculture, farms and consumers who store renewable energy locally in batteries or hydrogen. The goal has been to, in collaboration with a number of farms in Näshulta, develop and validate the Energy Club concept to a TRL6 level and prepare for a demonstration on a larger scale.

Expected long term effects

Through the collaboration with LRF, we could quickly establish a focus group with a number of farms in Näshulta, Sörmland. Thanks to their great commitment, we are ahead of schedule with all activities. Feedback from the farms and the results of our tests show a very positive outcome and it is our feeling that there is a great interest in moving forward in step 2 and an upscale demonstration. The work of getting our business models evaluated and validated by different market segments has also shown a positive outcome and confirms that we are on the right track.

Approach and implementation

The work packages has been carried out according to plan and we were able to test both Energy Bank and Energy Club as a concept and develop a prototype within WP 1-2. In addition, we could move forward with WP 3 during the summer, to develop and validate the various modules within the value chain and the apps required for a commercial solution. In parallel, we prepared a business model and developed a business plan according to AP 4. The project overall is a success and thanks to the cooperation with the farms in the focus group we have been able to implement all parts well ahead of schedule.
