Important results from the project
StreetForum developed and tested a toolbox of digital and analogue methods for consensus building in street transformation. The goals were met through increased participation, broadened stakeholder representation and improved decision-making processes in four living laboratories. Other important results were governance models, evaluation frameworks and new international collaborations that can be used in future traffic and urban development projects.
Expected long term effects
In the long term, StreetForum is expected to contribute to more inclusive and accepted street transformations through open, reproducible tools that strengthen dialogue and consensus. The methodology can be integrated into municipal planning processes, reduce conflicts and increase local engagement, which increases the chance of changes becoming permanent and supporting sustainable mobility and attractive urban environments in Europe.
Approach and implementation
StreetForum was implemented in four European living labs (Brussels, Vienna, Stockholm, Istanbul) where a toolbox of digital and analogue methods for consensus building was tested. The work was iterative: development (WP1), application in labs (WP2), evaluation (WP3) and dissemination (WP4). Experiences from the first testing phase were integrated into the final version to maximize relevance and usability.
