Important results from the project
The overarching goal for the collaboration has been to conduct the secondary analysis and publish research results in relevant fora for the overlap area between law and IT. Several (joint) conference presentations have been delivered and two manuscripts have been submitted for publication in peer-reviewed international journals. Overall, Katz has contributed very valuable expertise to the benefit of several on-going projects in the research environment.
Expected long term effects
The research collaboration between Katz and researchers at the University of Skövde have been disseminated through several contributions in a number of academic and practitioners outlets, including presentations at workshops and through international peer-reviewed journals. Two manuscripts, co-authored by Katz, Björn Lundell and Jonas Gamalielsson, have been submitted for publication in international peer-reviewed journals.
Approach and implementation
Katz has made significant contributions (providing legal and licensing competence) to an analysis of open standards currently undertaken by researchers at HS, which results in a guideline concerning open standards that is provided by Kammarkollegiet (for use by public sector organisations when procuring software in the context of the new framework agreements `Programvaror och tjänster 2014´).
