Purpose and goal
The project aims to enable more reliable pollution calculations of stormwater and treatment for substances for which there is currently insufficient data, e.g. PFAS. The goal is to make available new data and typical concentrations of pollutants in stormwater from different land uses and as treatment effects for different types of stormwater treatment facilities. The new data will be implemented in the stormwater and recipient model StormTac Web and enable use in international projects.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to find sufficient new pollutant concentrations per land use and treatment effects per facility type for substances in stormwater with insufficient data. This is expected to enable more reliable and complete calculations of pollutant loads on recipients and for the dimensioning of facilities in connection with a strategic action planning within the EU Framework Directive. The new substances can affect both the choice of action type, its dimensioning and effects.
Planned approach and implementation
A seminar for DRIZZLE partners will be held at the beginning of the project.
Literature search for case studies where the pollutant content in stormwater from different land uses and treatment effects for different facility types have been studied. Data from two research facilities will be compiled with planned sampling in 2025–2026. Data from already received reports and articles will be reviewed, as well as many more contacts made and raw data processed. Implementation of data in StormTac Web.
