Important results from the project
The goal was for 30 incubator companies to successfully exit the incubator per year, i.e. a total of 120 companies during the period, of which 50% had a female co-founder. During the period, 139 incubator companies have been accepted to Sting and of these, 78 (56%) have had at least one female co-founder. All milestones for business development have been achieved.
Expected long term effects
Sting has primarily worked with startups in the focus areas of ClimateTech, HealthTech, Digital Society and DeepTech. Here, Sting has developed a strong position, and built up world-class expertise and networks that Sting will be able to continue to benefit from to further strengthen Sweden´s and Stockholm´s position in these areas. Sting´s focus on supporting female founders will motivate more women to start and run companies.
Approach and implementation
Yes, the project developed as planned. A very thorough selection process has ensured a high level of accepted companies. The companies have been offered highly qualified business coaching and extensive and customized support that covers most needs a startup could possibly have. Increased focus on Sting´s prioritized focus areas has strengthened Sting´s attractiveness. The changing geopolitical context has meant that fewer companies are being founded and access to capital has decreased.
