Important results from the project

Yes, the goals have been largely met and exceeded. The project has continuously implemented Startup and Scaleup programmes where companies have developed and verified their business models and attracted significant capital. In addition, the Kick Capital investment fund has been established, collaborations with other incubators have been strengthened and the companies have won awards, gained international exposure and contributed to increasing Blekinge´s attractiveness as an innovation region.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to strengthen Blekinge´s innovation system in the long term through more mature and sustainable growth companies. Kick Capital secures regional venture capital, which increases the survival and growth chances of startups and strengthens the incubator process. Increased collaboration with other incubators provide larger networks. International exposure attracts investors and expertise. New emerging areas such as marine technology can create new industry nodes.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented through a structured approach with the phases PreInk, Startup, Execution and Scaleup. Each phase provided the companies with tailored coaching, mentoring and capital support. The processes were continuously developed to increase quality and provide fewer but more mature cases. Collaborations with other incubators, universities and the business community broadened the networks, while the Kick Capital fund secured venture capital.
