Speech enhancement software in hands-free communication devices such as smartphones, tablets & smart-TVs

Reference number
Coordinator LIMES AUDIO AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 423 900
Project duration May 2014 - June 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project goal was to develop a stereo version of Limes Audio´s speech communication software TrueVoice that is market leading in audio quality according to objective tests. As the project has come to an end, a stereo version, showing great promise (and probably is market leading) in preliminary tests with potential customers, was developed. The project can therefore be considered very successful.

Results and expected effects

Limes Audio has already acquired new customers, such as two Pro Audio/Video brands, with the help of results from the project. Further, Limes Audio has during the spring of 2015 been in contact with one of the world leading consumer electronics manufacturers that has shown interest in using TrueVoice for the coming generation of TVs with built-in voice control. Thanks to the FoV-project, and that the TrueVoice stereo version is mature enough, the process of acquiring the consumer electronics manufacturer as a customer has been able to progress.

Approach and implementation

The project has been carried out largely according to the project plan, despite some minor delays (which, however, have been caught up afterwards). As new customers have been acquired, and owing to the fact that we have gotten in contact with one of the world leading consumer electronics manufacturers, the final stage of the project has been largely customer focused. This has been helpful for understanding the customer benefits and contributed to Limes Audio´s ability to keep investing in continued commercialization of project results.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
