Important results from the project
The aim of the initiative and the preparatory project Spatial Equality has been to develop the planning process and new urban building principles with equality and norm criticism as a starting point. The project has resulted in a planning process for greater equality, as well as urban development principles for increased equality in a spatial context.
Expected long term effects
The project´s results will be used by Haninge Municipality and implemented in an urban planning project. Once the project has been realised in reality, it can be evaluated, lessons can be learned from and lastly experiences and working methods can be shared on a national and international level.
Approach and implementation
The project Spatial equality has, together with residents, experts, researchers and employees of Haninge municipality, identified what makes existing places, old as well as newly developed, poorly adapted for a variety of, or "all", people. In workshops, site visits, interviews, readings and analyzes we have collected methods and knowledge, and explored ideals that exist and for whom places are planned and designed today. That is, which people often benefit from planning and who are in various ways restricted or excluded from using or living on the site because of its range and design.
