Purpose and goal
The purpose of this interdisciplinary project is to develop knowledge that can contribute to more informed planning and decision-making policy instrument for the 15-minute city focusing on environmental and social justice. Location of welfare services as well as the decisions where to localize these services will be analyzed from its consequences for different social groups. The project takes place in collaboration with universities, municipalities and public transport operators in Sweden and Europe.
Expected effects and result
Develop planning policy instrument for environmental and social just 15mC where active modes of transport is default. Comprehensive overview on how different justice perspectives produces different planning outcomes. Develop a baseline for measuring accessibility for different social groups in the 15mC context. improved action capacity in non-governmental organizations. Dissemination to practitioners in planning and transport arenas and open-access scientific journals and participation in scientific networks.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is organized as a mixed method project where quantitative and qualitative research methods are used to map accessibility to everyday important destinations and analyze decision-making processes about location as well as residents´ perceptions, needs and ideas about accessibility within the 15 minute city. The analyzes from the sub-studies will form the basis of the policy recommendations and planning tools designed within the project. Dissemination of results towards the industry and the scientific community are continuously activities.
