Important results from the project

Yes, all project parties feel that the project´s goal formulation "The goal is to develop and demonstrate within TECoSA´s testbed several different sub-technologies aimed at a safe introduction of automated driving" is well fulfilled and that their individual objectives are met. Everyone also feels that the collaboration between the project parties went better than expected and led to more positive effects than expected.

Expected long term effects

In the long term, a method for safety assessment of vehicles with a high degree of automation should be possible to develop in Sweden. Reliable predictions can be a key technology in future anti-collision systems, to optimize the guidance of autonomous vehicles and to achieve the best efficiency in traffic light control. The results and the knowledge gathered can be reused in future projects that require changes in the testbed or the construction of new specialized testbeds.

Approach and implementation

To a large extent, the three different sub-projects were carried out individually by each project partner. There were a relatively large number of coordination meetings where we discussed results and held together a common thread between the sub-projects. The project went largely as planned, the schedule was kept and the collaboration between the project parties, TECoSA and KTH worked even better than expected.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
