Important results from the project

The project´s objective was partially met. Delays in the development and production of the boxes, as well as changes among the project partners, meant that full implementation and testing could not be carried out. The project provided important lessons about technical integration collaboration and the need to better assess the maturity and implementation capabilities of technology providers. It also created new networks and a basis for the continued development of sustainable urban logistics.

Expected long term effects

In the longer term, the project is expected to contribute to more robust and scalable solutions for operator-neutral delivery and return points. The experience provides better conditions for assessing technical maturity, reducing risks and designing future demonstration projects. The connection to Helsingborg´s logistics testbeds can enable continued testing of equipment, processes and policies and contribute to more efficient urban logistics and increased circular flows.

Approach and implementation

The project was planned in three parts: project management and dissemination, demonstration/testing of connected delivery boxes, and analysis and reporting. Delays in production and integration, as well as changes of participants, meant that the schedule could not be followed and full-scale user tests were not carried out. However, experiments in a real environment and preparations for installation were completed, providing important experience in technology, collaboration and implementation.
