Important results from the project

The project was aimed at strengthening Lund and Malmö municipalities´ ability to use Innovatiova IoT solutions to develop and streamline public environments and be the test arenas for the Swedish IoT industry. The purpose was to take those first steps in a so-called pre-study. The project has delivered to goals and an organization has been built to run theimplementation part that is supposed to be the next step. The project has also built up a strong network of industrial players within IoT who want to participate in and exploit the benefits of a shared test infrastructure.

Expected long term effects

The project has delivered a number of deliverables that underlie the next stage of the project. These include reports on how to introduce IoT into public solutions, State of Art around smart cities in the world, as well as needs and demands for an open IoT data platform in Lund and Malmö. In addition, the project has carried out tests with flow measurement of pedestrians around Lund C, and implemented a test site on personally controlled lighting in a live environment in a nursing home. Final evaluation of effects from the practical activites is carried out in the next step.

Approach and implementation

The project was conducted in a number of different subprojects, with partners selected to best match the challenges of subprojects. All activities, however, had involvement from Lund, and Malmö City. All activities have been driven based on needs and challenges identified by the public actors.
