Purpose and goal

The project aimed to organize the best possible Swedish participation at the Smart City World Expo in Barcelona, 19-21 November 2019. The long-term goal is to create a platform for the development of smart cities in an international context. The Swedish delegation consisted of 134 actors, which is an increase of 20% from the previous year. Together with the "Smart City Business Forum", an international context was created for Swedish actors to expand their international networks, to learn and to be inspired and to carry out their own results and establish collaboration.

Expected results and effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** A total of 134 Swedish actors participated in the delegation to 42% cities, 22% companies, 16% authorities. 55% women, 45% men. The follow-up to the following response: * 93% satisfied or very satisfied with the overall experience * 82% thought the event was worth the time and money invested. * 56% wanted to participate again next year In the form of concrete collaborations etc, a deeper follow-up should be done in the spring and in connection with the next years are planned.

Planned approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project consisted of designing an appropriate pavilion, developing and implementing a program inside and outside the pavilion that maximized the exposure of Swedish participants to relevant actors. This was done in collaboration with the other Nordic countries in a unique Nordic collaboration. The program included Smart City Business Forum (pre-event), opening ceremony, pavilion seminars, match-making, networking dinners, smart city challenge roundtable, international pavilion visits and more.
