Important results from the project

The VFT funds have contributed to more knowledge from SLU benefitting to society. Thanks to the VFT funds, SLU Holding has been able to develop and increase the proportion of verified ideas from researchers and students who want to investigate the potential of innovative ideas originating from the university. The allocation of VFT funds has enabled more innovation projects to be developed more quickly and thus additional ideas and research from SLU to be utilized.

Expected long term effects

Through groundbreaking research and continuous development of new knowledge, SLU contributes with solutions to both today´s and tomorrow´s challenges. For research results to truly have an impact on society, more than insights are required - it requires entrepreneurial power to put them into practice. The VFT funds streamline the process of utilizing ideas from universities and thereby contribute to sustainable solutions and competitive start-ups.

Approach and implementation

Thanks to our flexible process, the project has worked as intended. Vinnova has been accommodating regarding project time extensions. The approach for the project has been to continuously inform about the offer. The researchers´ and students´ innovation ideas have been continuously evaluated based on potential and verification needs. In the projects that have been assessed as being able to contribute the greatest benefit to society, VFT funds have been used to accelerate the development process.
