Purpose and goal
The project´s aim is to enable an improved efficiency and a higher production capacity combined with increased work safety and a more sustainable production in the construction industry through an Intelligent System of System (ISoS). The project also explores how 5G with wireless connectivity and edge computing can contribute to a digitized platform for data-driven communication for intelligent processes and machines. The goal is to achieve an improved control of work machines using digital models and an improved CO2 reporting as well as increased safety with zero work injuries.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to contribute with new knowledge, methods, processes, and overall competence development that can: Enable the digitization of work processes, facilitate data collection for environmental reporting, improve safety through the integration of external sensors, provide a platform for future autonomous equipment, result in more efficient transportation logistics, enhance the planning of work processes and coordinate with traffic information and enable better integration with authorities and cities for improved traffic planning.
Planned approach and implementation
The project contains five work packages that are coordinated in WP1. The platform developed in this project will be communicated within the scientific and research community by scientific publications and conferences. The technical and engineering experience gained in developing the iSoS prototype will be communicated with the industry through press releases, workshops, guidelines, reports, and whitepapers. All partners are committed to disseminating and communicating the gained knowledge within the relevant community.
