Important results from the project
The project fulfilled its objective: it developed a common vision, a strategic plan and prioritized flagship areas for a future cluster of excellence in neuromorphic technology. The most important additional result was to bring together a broad Swedish ecosystem of academia, institutes, industry and the public sector and to concretize possible projects, testbeds and international positioning.
Expected long term effects
In the long term, the project is expected to strengthen Sweden´s international position in neuromorphic technology, build a cluster of excellence for research and innovation, accelerate the path from research to application, and enable energy-efficient, robust, and adaptive AI systems for industry, telecom, defense, healthcare, and surveillance. It can also increase European collaboration, skills supply, and technological sovereignty.
Approach and implementation
The project was implemented, among other things, through three workshops with a total of approximately 100 participants. Before and after each workshop, data was produced and analyzed by a broad working group consisting of all participating academic parties and research institutes. The results from the working group have then been further developed and anchored within NEUTEC´s Industrial Advisory Board, with representatives from industry, SMEs and a public authority.
