Important results from the project

Gotland’s innovation system has been strengthened through two incubation programs for startups. The goals of regional anchoring, national collaboration, and internationalization have been achieved. Several ideas and companies have been admitted, many with female founders or links to academia. The project has also initiated new collaborations and networks, expected to foster a more diversified and sustainable business sector on Gotland and increase international competitiveness

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to strengthen Gotland´s innovation system in the long term through more scalable companies, better access to capital and expertise, and deeper collaboration with national actors. This contributes to a more diversified and sustainable business community, strengthened international competitiveness, and an attractive environment that attracts the entrepreneurs of the future.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out according to plan through the establishment and consolidation of two incubation programs: Startup (pre-incubation) and Summit (incubation). Companies received support in business coaching, IP, capital and sustainability, complemented by Business Reviews and IRL assessments. The timeline was largely followed, with some budget delays addressed by increased resources. Collaboration worked well and the activities developed as intended.
