SAMSAS Phase 1

Purpose and goal

The project intended to further develop the idea about a new regional platform with a new IT-system and innovative methods for work practice. This idea is now developed and can be taken further from planning to implementation. The purpose of the project was also to stimulate public sector innovation by arranging seminal venues. Target groups were: elementary school, upper secondary school, adult education, integration, business and university. The overall purpose and objective of the project has been fulfilled as desired and we have now a sound basis to proceed unto the next step.

Results and expected effects

The results are that we have achieved the objectives of the project, namely the creation of a production specification on how the tool should work to match existing needs. By involving all target groups, we have achieved their support and participation. The next step is to find further financing. We also see a need in other municipalities/regions outside the region of Gothenburg, where we would like to expand the use of the same IT-system to promote equivalent management of work-practice placements and experiences between municipalities, regions and the business sector.

Approach and implementation

Structure, planning and implementation have been followed with a minor adjustment. The plan to identify concerned target groups first, both within the public and the business sector, has been followed. We met with these groups in focus group workshops, which resulted in the production specification as well as ideas concerning other methods of interaction. The minor adjustment made was based on an initial idea to use expertise in-house. This was not possible but had to be sought externally in the form of a consultant which in turn has contributed towards widening our perspectives.
