Important results from the project
The project fulfilled the main goal of building an experimental set-up at CCK´s premises on KS Campus, in close proximity to healthcare and medical research, and the sub-goal of making the innovation known. During the project we tested and implemented an innovation where one of the most expensive components of the original plan could be eliminated, and the cost of another significantly reduced. Furthermore, we invented and tested a new application area in medical research and drug development.
Expected long term effects
The project has been of decisive importance to show that the central quantum technology can be used in a medical research environment in close proximity to healthcare, and as the impetus to radically reduce the costs of the most important components. In the 1-3 year term we see important advantages in the location in the cluster around CCK to be able to continue to innovate and find new medical applications. In the 2-4 year term we also see the need for production premises and more space.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out essentially according to plan in terms of objectives, but with changes in content, and with a delay of about 6 months. One reason for the delay was the implementation of the cost-saving innovation reported above. A positive side effect of the delay was the discovery of a new application area, also reported above. The work with the an experimental set-up was carried out by SPQR founders with technical support for related activities from CCK staff.
