Reference number
Coordinator Nordic Rock Tech Centre AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 691 000
Project duration November 2017 - December 2019
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The MINDI program shall for mining companies and their machinery and system suppliers, contribute to increased mining productivity by developing knowledge and promoting the application of a data-driven approach. Objectives - A developed a strategy and architecture for handling data in their organisation. - Increased partners companies knowledge and understanding of how they should utilise their data resources, which will enable them to make their operations more efficient - Richer and continuously updated geological models will give better understanding of the rock and ore body

Expected results and effects

The project has met most of the objectives described in the project definition and application, which relate to the sub-project Data market. Predictive maintenace has achieved the goals that are defined. What has not been achieved is the implementation of a cloud-based service. The goals associated with sub-projects 3d geological model have not been achieved. Due to the situation in the Rock Tech Center, which is under liquidation, and because of the difficulty in starting up the sub-project 3D geological model, the steering group decided to cancel the project in December 2019.

Planned approach and implementation

514/5000 The project was carried out in collaboration with 4 partner companies and who participated in the steering group. Suppliers have been a smaller IT company with adequate focus and expertise as well as staff from LTU. RTC has appointed technical project managers and led the steering group. The model has worked well, however, the project has suffered from lack of energy from partners, possibly largely due to the fact that competing projects have started up in the near future and it has created doubts whether this project is the right thing to spend resources on.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
