Project duration May 2018 - April 2019
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Commissioned by the board of SIO Grafen as part of its strategic work, we have conducted the first ever survey of graphene in Swedish electronics. The report describes Swedish electronics players´ current and future use of graphene, identifies areas of high potential as well as perceived problems per area of strength, international collaboration, and recommendations for Swedish success over the next decade.

Expected results and effects

The report is based on national survey replies and discussions with area experts within Sensors, Printed Electronics, High Frequency Electronics and Electronic Cooling. It was presented to the public at both the Advanced Engineering fair as well as SIO Grafen´s annual meeting in 2019. Results will aid SIO Grafen´s continued work and at least one EU funding scheme in the field of graphene electronics.

Planned approach and implementation

With help from Smartare Elektroniksystem, SIO Grafen and the personal networks of subject experts, the survey reached Academia, Industry, startups and institutes across Sweden. The survey enabled anonymous data gathering and was followed by in-depth interviews in those cases where the respondent allowed contact. Statistics and text were developed iteratively, and Swedish areas of strength and opportunity were put into international context through the EU Graphene Flagship. The report will be available through the SIO Grafen website.
