Purpose and goal

The project aims to develop a digital infrastructure for circular management of precast concrete elements from demolition projects. It links demolition permit registers with business systems via digital product passports using IFC standards. It includes reuse inventory, quality assurance, circular business models, logistics validation, and integration of reuse into EPDs to create added value.

Expected effects and result

- Increased access to quality-assured reused concrete elements on the market – new processes in digitalization, logistics and sales. - Reduced climate impact in construction projects with reuse - Changed business models at prefab suppliers, from linear to circular. - New business areas and new types of market actors. - Strengthened system integration between demolition, material flows, production and reuse. - Increased motivation and capacity of property owners and contractors to choose reuse.

Planned approach and implementation

The consortium consists of: RISE, Strängbetong, NCC, Ragnsells and Handelshögskolan Stockholm. The project is planned to last three years with five work packages: AP1 Coordination, communication and participation in the transition lab (RISE) AP2 Digital infrastructure for collection of reused elements (RISE) AP3 Logistics for resale in new deliveries (Strängbetong) AP4 Business models for reuse of concrete elements (Handelshögskolan Stockholm)) AP5 Efficient implementation (RISE)
