Important results from the project
The purpose is to increase researchers´ interest and ability to present their research in an easy and interesting way. The aim is to stimulate researchers to participate in dialogues with the outside world, increase the public´s interest in research and the research profession, highlight the importance of researchers communicating their research and contribute to more meetings between researchers and the outside world. The competition also wants to contribute to giving research communication higher status and more attention, as well as show the breadth of Swedish research.
Expected long term effects
Under 2021-2022 a total of 42 doctoral students and researchers received individual coaching, 6 women and 7 men participated in the finals. Two finalist were selected for the final from the digital competition in 2021 and 2022. A total of 20 doctoral students and researchers participated in the Forskar Grand Prix Digital, which gave researchers from all over Sweden the opportunity to participate. The finals had an audience of 1200 participants both on site and online. The audience consisted of a mixture of school-pupils, professionals and general public.
Approach and implementation
The 2021s final was slightly different with finalists from both the 2020 competitions and the digital-competition Forskar Grand Prix Digital as well as the digital Nörd. In 2021, no regional competitions were held due to the pandemic. In 2022, four regional-competitions were organized as part of the science festival ForskarFridag 26 September to 1 October 2022, these are funded by the local organisers. In 2022, the digital -competition Forskar Grand Prix Digital was also arranged. The winners from the competitions and FGP Digital competed in the final on December 1, 2022.
