Reference number
Coordinator SP SVERIGES TEKNISKA FORSKNINGSINSTITUT AB - Energiteknik, Borås
Funding from Vinnova SEK 200 000
Project duration May 2014 - December 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The initiation project´s aim was establishing a Swedish network for influence within the renewable heating and cooling sector. For now, ten organizations are involved, including four from the academy / institute sector and four national branch associations. The branch organizations can facilitate communication as well as engagement from their member organisations.

Results and expected effects

The result is an established network with a strategy on how to influence coming topics in H2020. The network will primarily act through Renewable Heating and Cooling European Technology Platform (RHC-ETP), however, the engagement in RHC-ETP, as well as in other identified platforms will stay at current level, until the network finds funding. The same applies to communications directed to Swedish companies about opportunities to participate in H2020. Expected impact beyond business as usual is therefore moderate in anticipation of continued funding.

Approach and implementation

The work has been organised with the European Technology Platform RHC ETP´s structure as basis. It consists of bioenergy, solar energy, geothermal energy, as well as ´cross-cutting´ which includes heating and heat pumping technologies. In addition RHC-ETP has identified inter-regional activities as well as other platforms as possible future means to influence H2020. During its establishment; outreaching activities, meetings and workshops were arranged with a focus on building a stakeholder base for further expansion of the platform after the establishing phase.
