Purpose and goal

- Competence building and understanding around smart homes, smart charging, user preferences and expectations - Prototype development and demonstration, with the aim of creating understanding around smart charging - Development of scheduling algorithm for smarter charging, estimation of the household´s power consumption is based on models and methods that were originally lacking and developed - Cost estimate for cost-effective smart charging in homes. - A doctoral thesis and a master’s thesis work

Expected results and effects

The project has developed new working methods & results. E.g, the development of technical solutions that were developed, the data we collected both technically, electricity needs, different charging choices, the different needs of the users, and that the 10 households were largely different in terms of electrical installations, which became a good challenge that we were not prepared for on and gave us good results. All work packages and their collaboration have been a strength and that the respective partners increased the level of innovative proposals and solutions.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has followed the plan and implementation as described in the agreement. 2020 in March when the pandemic brought challenges, but the project was able to complete Phase 1 with a small delay. Hardware and software as well as measurement methodology were developed, and users were recruited. Ethnographic preliminary study was carried out with the users. TEAMS became a new tool for collaboration and meetings and for user studies with households. Meetings and the study required a new dialogue method via digital Teams instead.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
