Purpose and goal

The objective of Reglab is to increase the capacity in the field of regional development, within the participating organizations. Evaluation of the activities shows: The activities contribute to knowledge and capacity-building in the member organizations. The increased skills are used to develop the regional work and make it more effective. The conditions for learning and dialogue has been strengthened within the regional development system. The regions´ strategic abilities has been strengthened. Reglab has contributed to a better multi-level collaboration.

Expected results and effects

Reglab has carried out a large number of capacity-building activities, ranging from single seminars and networking meetings, to annual conferences gathering all organizations working in regional development. Reglab has been established as a national hub for learning in regional development. Over 1,000 people have participated in Reglab´s activities during the period, some 300 of whom have participated in in-depth “learning projects”. About 40 organizations have been regularly active, just as many have initiated or operated a Reglab activity.

Planned approach and implementation

Reglab has 24 members and 15 partners. Based on the member’s needs, have a large number of capacity-building activities been carried out, all from single seminars to a big annual conference. Reglab is a community of practise: through a focus on collegial learning and dialogue, knowledge of regional development has been shared and implemented in new environments. The success is due to the involvement and commitment of the members, as well as the basic conditions: a trusted neutral arena, a flexible and laborative character, a focus on learning and useful knowledge for the members.
