Important results from the project

Region Stockholm has contributed to the Vinnovas VINTER project with expertise in the care of patients with type 1 diabetes. Above all, the region contribution has been to show which patient data is stored by the healthcare provider. Furthermore, the region has investigated how the patient´s data can be exported to out to the patient/individual in a digitized and automatic way at the individual´s request. Region Stockholm has drawn up a plan for how this can be implemented.

Expected long term effects

The concrete result is a study that shows how the region can proceed if the function is to be put into production. To automatically and digitally send the individual´s stored data to the individual at the individual´s digital request. The project has provided many concrete insights and made it clear that the need will likely blossom in a sharp situation.

Approach and implementation

The project has worked according to the region´s (SLSO´s) innovation management system, which is based on ISO 56000. We believe that there is much to be gained from working systematically with innovation. In this specific case, we initially worked with hypotheses that were validated to proceed with the simplest form of prototyping. It involved several iterations that helped the project get on track. We strongly recommend using the tools found in the innovation management system.
