Venture Advanced digitalization: System-changing initiatives
Call Advanced digitalization: System-changing initiatives, pre-study project 2025

Purpose and goal

The project idea is to investigate how digital solutions can support the electrification of industry. Can creating a process for sharing actual and forecasted power and energy data help free up capacity in energy systems? The feasibility study will, among other things * Identify needs for industry and DSOs. * Identify needs and challenges for sharing energy data. * Review digital solutions for secure data sharing * Investigate business models, incentives and regulatory frameworks.

Expected effects and result

The feasibility project will achieve the following results - A defined common mission for industrial electrification and energy data digitalisation. - An in-depth mapping of systems and actors linked to the electrification of industry. - An implementation strategy with action plans for a phased roll-out in other regions. - An extended consortium with national coverage for a future implementation project.

Planned approach and implementation

The project builds on regional energy system analysis and industrial flexibility investigations. It will gain a deeper understanding of challenges, opportunities and solutions by working within the consortium and focusing on the details with industry and DSOs. Implementation will concentrate upon mapping of challenges and solutions, undersanding the needs, and the digital solutions. The feasibility study should develop insights that can draw in actors from across Sweden to develop consensus.
