Important results from the project
We have developed a program for recently arrived refugees with a university degree and working experience. They are offered an internship at a Swedish company in combination with an executive management program at the Stockholm School of Economics. The objective is to strengthen their chances to get an employment in line with their qualifications.
Expected long term effects
We have admitted fourteen applicants to the pilot round of the program. They come from Syria, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Iran. 43% are women. Our aim is that the program leads to good employment and that the participants become role models to other refugees. We clarify that among refugees there are university graduates with qualified working experience. If we succeed they will make a career and in turn start recruiting from a broader target group.
Approach and implementation
The participants follow an educational program which introduces them to Swedish business life. Apart from leadership, value creation, finance, marketing, etc we discuss the terms for doing business in a democracy and market economy under the rule of law. At the internship they do it in real life.
