Purpose and goal
An inclusive approach is increasingly prioritised in health- and medical care and research. Based on the recommendations in the report Samverkan 2.0, we want to promote the willingness and the ability to change cultural and structural patterns in the area of patient and next of kin engagement. In this project, we will develop easily accessible and scalable tools for actors who want to start collaborating in a democratic and inclusive way. Our goal is that at least 20 new project/initiatives use our resources during the project period.
Expected effects and result
R-SHIPS will support the normalisation and implementation of genuine patient and next of kin engagement in Swedish health- and medical care and research, thereby improving outcomes in the long term. There is also a lack of sufficiently large contact areas between actors with similar goals, and our project plays an important role in connecting such initiatives. This is an important prerequisite for us to be able to achieve measurable quality improvements in life science, research, healthcare and other necessary building blocks for sustainable, long-term precision health.
Planned approach and implementation
The tools for collaboration developed by the project will be made available via Ringla.nu. Ringla is an existing resource platform for spreading methods and good examples in care, research and development. Quality evaluations will be carried out in dialogue with the partners. Dialogue meetings based on the tools will held in wider networks with greater geographical reach and increased diversity. In connection with the dialogue meetings, network nodes will be created for continued knowledge exchange, with a focus on collecting and compiling good examples of engagement.
