Purpose and goal
POP-PV will develop flexible perovskite solar cells based on scalable and sustainable manufacturing processes. The UK company Power Roll’s perovskite solar cell technology is combined with Dyenamo AB’s materials expertise, 3DAG’s (Switzerland) expertise in photolithography, and research at the University of Sheffield (UK). The overall goal is a lightweight solar film with at least 8% efficiency.
Expected effects and result
POP-PV will accelerate Power Roll´s perovskite solar cell commercialisation and strengthen Dyenamo’s role as the leading European partner in perovskite chemistry.
Planned approach and implementation
Perovskite solar cells differ from silicon solar cells in that their active layer is made from chemicals that determine the efficiency and lifespan of the devices. Moreover, the handling of these materials influences the devices. Consequently, materials and manufacturing processes must be developed in parallel. This is the approach of POP-PV, reflected in the eight work packages. The project is highly interdisciplinary, uniting three SMEs and one university with complementary expertise
