Important results from the project

The project has identified a number of public authorities that conduct camera surveillance with the accidental capture of personal data not necessary for the purpose. The prototype is developed as a containerised solution in order to fit infrastructure and system requirements for a public public authority. The prototype has shown results that redacts personal data to a satisfactory degree. Developed a framework for legal analysis and impact assessment specially for the technology. Technology should be further developed for real-time data as well as to include audio data.

Expected long term effects

The project has Identified public authorities use of camera surveillance with accidental capture of personal data. The prototype redacts personal data in camera surveillance footage. The technology is specifically developed as a cloud solution for public authorities. The prototype is functionally tested and evaluated but not yet demonstrated in live environment at the City of Stockholm. Prototype ready for live implementation but special capacity is required at the intended service provider. Prototype should be further developed to account for real time data and audio data.

Approach and implementation

All work packages where carried out as budgeted, with the exception of WP 4: Distribution, testing and demonstration. During implementation, as it turned out, the service provider did not have enough recourses in terms of supplier agreement to assist as necessary, causing delays and extra not budgeted for costs. The added cost were covered by the project parties.
