Important results from the project
The main objective was achieved through the establishment of Mission 0 House, a shared environment where researchers and engineers from industry and academia work together to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. The project generated knowledge about how cross-sector collaboration can be organized to solve complex system challenges. The pilot showed that the One Task, One Team, One Place principles create deeper trust and more efficient problem solving than traditional forms of collaboration.
Expected long term effects
The project has established a new model for long-term collaboration between industry and academia in support of the climate transition. The expected impacts include faster development and implementation of emission-reducing solutions, strengthened competitiveness for Swedish industry, and an enhanced capacity to translate research into practical applications. Mission 0 House also provides a platform for building knowledge, expertise, and networks across organisational and sectoral boundaries.
Approach and implementation
The project was implemented in two phases. During the first phase, the concept, working methods, processes, governance model and physical environment for Mission 0 House were developed. In the second phase, a pilot was carried out with participants from 15 organizations in industry and academia to test and further develop the model in practice. Continuously improvements formed the basis for the establishment of Mission 0 House as a long-term center for climate-oriented research and innovation.
