Important results from the project
The objective with the pre-study was to identify research questions related to real-time video streaming in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET) utilizing the wireless technology IEEE 802.11p. These video streams can contribute to a better road traffic safety and road traffic efficiency but also increase the driver´s awareness horizon.
Expected long term effects
The outcome of the pre-study is a final report with well-defined research questions- Further two academic articles have been written, initial field tests have been conducted, several presentations have performed and fruitful collaborations with experts in the field of video streaming have been established.
Approach and implementation
To facilitate the identification of research questions has a literature study been performed and based on this new relevant research collaboration has been established. Further, regular project meetings have been held between the project participants. To concretize the identified research questions two academic publications have been written and presentations have been given to collect feedback on the ideas around video streaming in vehicular networks.
