Important results from the project

This aim of this pre-study was to create a detailed plan for Cybercampus Sweden, which will conduct joint research and innovation, offer cybersecurity education, coordinate EU participation in research projects, act as a competent body of expertise for Swedish decision makers and increase Sweden’s international visibility. The project has been successful and the next phase, which involves establishing Cybercampus, has been initiated.

Expected long term effects

The infrastructure that Cybercampus will provide will create unique and valuable opportunities for collaboration between universities and research institutes with government agencies and the private sector, which will strengthen Sweden’s profile as an innovation-focused, knowledge-driven nation with an exceptionally competent cybersecurity workforce. This in turn will contribute to enhancing Sweden’s competitiveness by making the country an attractive and reliable business partner with an advanced and innovative cybersecurity ecosystem.

Approach and implementation

Cybercampus is organized as a national collaboration between several universities, research institutes, government agencies and companies across Sweden. The workforce will be constituted of faculty from participating universities, employees of institutes as well as staff and representatives from companies and government agencies. The interest in and support for the project shows that Sweden needs a national center for cybersecurity research, innovation, and education, where universities and research institutes engage with government agencies and the private sector.
