Purpose and goal

EUPATI Sweden was established with the aim of promoting patient involvement in life science and wants to clarify the conditions for developing national coordination and matchmaking for industry, researchers, authorities, healthcare and patients. The pre-project will clarify the prerequisites of a sustainable business model, user needs and design of a coordination and matchmaking service, map stakeholders and establish firm partnerships in preparation for an upcoming implementation application.

Expected effects and result

The pre-project will contribute to innovation by developing a knowledge base for a follow-up project: • Summary of primary coordinating and matchmaking functions in Sweden. Business model • Summary of the conditions for a sustainable business model. • Summary of needs/preferences for the design of matchmaking and coordination services, including data, tools, training and communication. • Develop a project application with parters in which roles, responsibilities and activities are clarified.

Planned approach and implementation

The following activities will be conducted: • Stakeholder analysis of patient coordination and matchmaking • Survey similar European initiatives and scan for current knowledge • Describe the necessary conditions for a sustainable business model • Describe needs and preferences for a coordination and matchmaking service • Create a consortium for a further project, in which activities will be implemented by industry, academia, the public sector and patients
