Important results from the project
In Sweden, property owners are responsible for reducing climate-related risks, but knowledge and support are lacking. The project aims for systemic change through a platform with property owners at its centre. Through co-creation workshops, a roadmap has been developed for climate-adapted properties. The results shows the importance of proactive action, collaboration, and enhancing knowledge to build a more climate-resilient property portfolio and reduce vulnerability to climate change.
Expected long term effects
The project´s ´Roadmap for Climate Adaptation with Property Owners at the Centre´ strengthens property owners´ ability to identify and manage climate risks through structured processes and working methods. In the long term, this leads to reduced vulnerability and damage costs, increases climate resilience within the property portfolio, and also promotes shared learning, networks, and tools that support long-term, sustainable climate adaptation.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out through three workshops in which property owners identified stakeholders, analysed the current situation, and developed a shared roadmap. Subsequently, interviews were conducted with two municipalities and water and sewage companies to complement the picture. The work was based on co-creation, risk analyses, dialogues, and practical examples. As part of the process, a proposal for a plan for continuation was also developed, which now requires further investigation.
