Important results from the project
The grant aimed to improve an earlier proposal (acronym SiFi4CITIES) to the Horizon Europe call EIC Pathfinder Open to the extent that it would be approved for funding. For 1.5 months we worked diligently on this, together with a Spanish consulting firm. The grant application that we submitted is more clearly structured that last year´s application.
Expected long term effects
Hopefully, the planning grant will lead to a grant for SiFi4CITIES in the EIC Pathfinder Open call for proposals. This project can in the long term contribute to a more efficient production of electricity from solar cells in urban environments through so-called singlet fission.
Approach and implementation
We set up the project according to the template suggested by the Spanish consulting company. They gave us 64 improvement/change points that we addressed during the 6 weeks. We had three follow-up meetings with them in addition to email contacts when things were unclear. Additionally, we carried out some travel: Two travels to project partners (England and Vienna) to discuss specific directions of the proposal and one return trip Gothenburg-Uppsala.
