Important results from the project

The goal of this project was to formulate and submit a competitive proposal to the EIC call EIC Pathfinder Challenge Waste-to-value, which we have now done. If the proposal is funded, we will implement a project to develop a system for using wastewater and carbon dioxide for the production of renewable fine chemicals. The support from Vinnova gave us the opportunity to focus and strengthen the work on coordinating the application process, which has in turn strengthened our proposal.

Expected long term effects

If our proposal is granted, this will of course have the effect of us and the joint consortium carrying out the research and development we propose: to develop a system for using wastewater and carbon dioxide to produce renewable fine chemicals for the pharmaceutical and other chemical industries. If not, we will likely write and submit other applications based on the current group of partners we have engaged in this project.

Approach and implementation

(1) We started by bringing together the consortium, which already existed from a previous proposal, for discussions around the new proposal. We saw that we needed a few more components, and identified these. (2) We brought in expertise to help us, in the form of professional consultants and support from the university. (3) A new partner (SME) and other industry actors supporting the project were engaged. (4) The proposal was written, with feedback from external advisors, and submitted.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
