Important results from the project
The project´s objective was to develop an infrastructure that ranges from connected devices to central cloud data centers to meet the needs of a common digital infrastructure within Avancerad Digitalisering and enable collaboration between ecosystems. The purpose was to enable reuse and innovation at a higher level of abstraction, which would benefit the program and Swedish industry. The project developed prototypes that demonstrate the functionality of the common digital infrastructure as well as reports that describe strategic choices and architectural principles.
Expected long term effects
The project adopted an iterative learning approach, split into iterations. Central has been the development of minimum viable prototypes (MVPs). The project developed and implemented six MVPs that demonstrate different capabilities of the common digital infrastructure involving a service catalogue, an asset catalogue, and an innovation cloud, including different deployment models for these components. Furthermore, the project provided four reports that describe strategic and architectural considerations of the digital infrastructure.
Approach and implementation
The project had a broad technical scope and several parallel ambitions, ranging from cloud infrastructure to data exchange, infrastructure prototypes, long-term test bed, etc. Several tracks within the Cloud-of-Clouds project are important for the Avancerad Digitalisering program but are deemed best pursued further in more focused projects. For example, dedicated activities around infrastructure innovation, realization of a testbed for the projects within Avancerad Digitalisering and realization of a long-term testbed/infrastructure for Swedish industry.
