Important results from the project
Good progress was made to build up an eventual consortium between Brazil and Sweden to further develop Chromaforas phosphene-based chemical process technology for the Brazilian market. Key initial contacts were made with Brazilian companies, institutes and universities which show good promise for building the consortium in the future. The two companies producing fine chemicals in Brazilian have been contacted. Concrete steps were made by signing 1 NDA and 1 LOI. In addition an initial material characterization study was made through FTIR spectroscopy at the Acreo laboratories.
Expected long term effects
An understanding of the Brazilian fine chemical industry as been achieved and initial contacts between Chromafora and the key companies active in the Brazilian fine chemical industry. Relationships have also been established at the institute level between Acreo and several leading Brazilian research institutes. Further effort is needed to finalize and formalize an eventual consortium for the development and introduction of the Chromafora phosphine recycling technology to the Brazilian market.
Approach and implementation
The kickoff and planning meetings were held at Acreo according to plan. Two suc-cessful marketing trips were made to Brazil as planned with the additional benefit of participation in the FINEP-Vinnova Innovation Seminar. The coordination with the Business Sweden office in Sao Paolo was very beneficial. The groundwork has been laid for the development of the consortium for future development. An under-standing of the Brazilian fine chemical industry was achieved which will be important for the development of Chromafora´s business strategy in Brazil.
