Purpose and goal

The pre-study has enabled co-creative processes through design between academia, business, public sector and civil society to achieve participation and new ways of working to create attractive, inclusive and long-term sustainable societies. We have developed a mission that is well anchored. Through the preliminary study´s solid grounding, a transdisciplinary network has been created with both national and international actors.

Expected results and effects

In order to create attractive, inclusive and sustainable living environments, with a focus on the role of humans in the green transition and societal transformation in Sweden, it is important to translate the concept of green transition into a definition that the residents feel committed to and want to be involved in and influence. Together with various actors, above all the residents, we have explored society´s strengths and challenges and tested alternative routes for system change.

Planned approach and implementation

We have used co-creative design processes between different actors (academia, business, public sector and civil society) and the place innovation model as a basis. The question of what People-powered transformation means and how it can take shape has been a key issue in our labs locally and regionally, where national and international representatives have also participated. Overall, we can see that place is a very good starting point for creating commitment, inclusion and system renewal.
