Important results from the project
The project’s purpose has been achieved as a partnership with MEI Israel has been tested in conjunction with a trip to Israel and EcoMotion. However, MobilityXlab and MEI did not jointly create a meeting place for industrial companies and Israeli startups. Instead, MEI mediated important contacts to MobilityXlab that enabled similar contact points. Thus, the short-term goal has been achieved with the conclusion that a partnership should not be entered into. In the long run, other organizations have been identified as potential partners.
Expected long term effects
An evaluation of the potential of a partnership with MEI Israel has been made. The conclusion is that a partnership can not be entered yet as no joint activity was done during EcoMotion as MEI instead acted as an intermediary to relevant organizations and meetings for MobilityXLab. Thus, the collaboration resulted in relevant contacts being created with different actors, e.g. startups that potentially can enter innovation collaborations with MobilityXlab’s industrial partners. Through these contacts and meetings during EcoMotion, other potential partners have been identified.
Approach and implementation
MobilityXlab traveled to Israel according to plan the 9th-12th of May to participate in EcoMotion. However, a meeting place for MobilityXlab’s industry partners and Israeli startups was not created together with MEI Israel, but instead MobilityXlab held a panel discussion on one of EcoMotion’s stages and enabled B2B meetings between startups and the industry partners. As planned, MobilityXlab created an activity package for partner companies with B2B meetings, a panel discussion and visits to key innovation players. It was not done jointly with MEI but rather with support from them.
