Purpose and goal

The agenda aims to meet the challenge of achieving equal health. We need a coordinated effort from all stakeholders, why it was developed in collaboration between the public and non-profit sector, industry, academia and citizens. The agenda describes the importance of reducing inequalities and improve general health to create a sustainable society. It highlights the challenges and needs that must be addressed. The agenda illustrates Sweden´s potential and good prospects for developing this area as a national area of strength regarding innovations.

Results and expected effects

The agenda describes the results of a number of international, national and regional studies. Along with the work carried out, we motivate the need to address the topics of health equity, and highlight a number of priorities and challenges we will face. We have great confidence that the vision is possible to realize by implementing the proposals set out in the agenda. We can already identify the development of new project ideas and partnerships. There are plans to lift the agenda in Skåne Innovation Week, and use it as a theme during the autumn seminar series Crossing borders.

Approach and implementation

During the project, a number of stakeholders from industry, government, non-profit sector, academia and representatives of the citizens have been involved. This was done to identify needs and problems and to develop a common vision. To ensure that the strategy is nationally rooted, we have conducted a series of interviews with key people in various sectors of society. This setup has made it possible to collect and include opinions/knowledge from a large number of actors, who also expressed interest in a possible continuation of this work.
