Important results from the project
The aim for the project has been to increase the knowledge experience between all parts in the main project OPTIPAM by fulfilling the goal of increased mobility between partners. An expert from the research partners has been on site at the final user and a knowledge transfer between these partners has been obtained. The increased knowledge experience has been transferred to the main project thorough reports and presentations, which fulfills the project goals.
Expected long term effects
Through systematic studies, an increased knowledge for the advanced manufacturing technology Electron Beam Melting (EBM) has been transferred between expert and final user. The final user has more rapid and efficiently learned the possibilities and limitations that are for the EBM process. At the same time, the expert has gained experience in what challenges that are coupled to commercial usage of EBM, and what resources that are available to meet these challenges. The expected effects have been achieved through increased knowledge for all participating partners.
Approach and implementation
An expert from the research provider has been present at the final user and conducted experiments to show the possibilities and limitations that are present in the EBM technology. As the final user has gained and increased knowledge experience for the technology, the user is able to perform optimizations and tailoring of the process by himself. The expert has been present at the end user for 7 days, where the expert has gained valuable experience in the presumptions that are present as challenges for the EBM end user.
