Purpose and goal

The project aims to activate and further develop the OMOP 4 Sweden consortium and increase the understanding, the engagement and the use of the international data model OMOP in Sweden. The project has three main objectives: 1) Attract more players to explore the possibilities of OMOP and OHDSI, and to get involved in or support the OMOP 4 Sweden movement 2) Increase the practical use of OMOP in Sweden 3) Develop a long-term sustainable foundation for successful work with OMOP in Sweden

Expected effects and result

1) Doubling the number of stakeholders involved in OMOP 4 Sweden 2) ≥3 of target group 1 stakeholders showing activity with OMOP 3) Formal commitment from 1-2 established institutions to lead a Swedish OHDSI node 4) ≥5 stakeholders interested in implementing OMOP + 2 ongoing pilot projects 5) More ongoing dialogues with strategic stakeholders, decision-makers and national initiatives 6) Increased engagement from national stakeholders 7) Increased financial support

Planned approach and implementation

The project strengthens and develops OMOP 4 Sweden through activation or participants, communication, collaboration, seminars and training. A national OHDSI node is established with common goals, structure, local activities and international alignment and support. The players engaged in the project promotes pilot projects, starter kits and funding for practical use of OMOP, and drives strategic dialogue for investments and integration of OMOP into national initiatives and structures.
