Coordinator FORUM - IDÉBURNA ORGANISATIONER MED SOCIAL INRIKTNING
Funding from Vinnova SEK 300 000
Project duration November 2014 - August 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal of the pilot study was to research the relevance of the tool and also to see how it can be developed. Furthermore, we had planned to find suitable partners, establish a project team and to plan the implementation of the project. The outcome of the pilot study is that there is a need for a norm-critical volunteer recruitment tool. How such a tool can be developed is an implementation project and was not part of the pilot study. In the pilot study, we have identified a method for how the work can be undertaken to ensure that the process is innovative.

Results and expected effects

Through the pilot study, Volontärbyrån has increased our knowledge and awareness of norm criticism and how it can be applied. The project partners have identified skills areas that are essential for the development of the norm critical volunteer recruitment tool. The project partners have also gained a deeper knowledge of innovation and the innovative processes. Finally, in the pilot study we have identified a method for how we can continue to work, ensuring an innovative process.

Approach and implementation

In the pilot study, we have worked using the innovation model of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions. We have analysed Volontärbyrån´s existing volunteer recruitment process from a norm critical perspective. We have also analysed two surveys from a norm critical perspective. Both surveys were sent to our users. They show that there are excluding norms that prevent people from volunteering. We also saw that we needed to focus on the innovative process to a greater extent than planned. We have therefore spent a lot of time studying various innovation models.
