Purpose and goal
The aims of the project; to establish forms to cooperate, creating a project design to develop a norm critical education as well as a knowledge ground to develop a full application for funding, including doing an iniduvidual empirical study, have all been achieved. The witten report is however delayed due to the time consuming effort to recruit informants for interviews from the group lgbt-elders, where in particular women and transpersons have been difficult to reach. The report will be presented at a day conference that the project will host on May 15, Heteronormativity and ageing care.
Results and expected effects
We have prepared the grounds for making it possible to reach our main goals: to create norm-critical educational strategies towards an anti-disciminatory and (hetero)norm-conscious care of the elderly. Our report points to important problem areas and challenges drawn from the national and international knowledge grounds. At this point when the project is well established internally in the organisation as well as with our cooperation partners, we can proceed rapidly with the process of developing and testing norm-critical methods through a pilot study in the elder care services.
Approach and implementation
The project leader, RFSL and RFSL Stockholm established a workgroup consisting of 4 people who have met regularly, and a reference group with different expertise and experiences in the subject area. Mats Christiansen from RFSL and the project leader Janne Bromseth have been employed by the project. The project leader has coordinated the work and been responsible for the litterature review, the report and the contact with external coperation parts. Christiansen has established the project within the organisation and has been involved in creating the empirical study.
