Purpose and goal
Stage 2 advances NodeX Cloud´s sovereign, decentralised cloud-storage platform from TRL 6 to TRL 7 through a Sweden–US collaboration anchored by Prof. Roman Beck at Bentley University, Boston. The goal is to validate its ransomware resilience, regulatory compliance (GDPR, NIS2, DORA), and data-sovereignty controls in three US pilot environments, and to co-develop a transatlantic governance framework that strengthens Sweden´s competitiveness in trustworthy, exportable digital infrastructure.
Expected effects and result
The project delivers quantified pilot evidence on resilience, performance, cost, and energy efficiency, a jointly developed governance framework, and a strengthened Swedish–US research and commercialisation partnership. Longer-term, it supports European digital sovereignty, reduces ransomware exposure for sensitive-data organisations, and positions Sweden as a leader in regulation-compliant decentralised cloud infrastructure, with a clear path to EIC Accelerator funding and US market entry.
Planned approach and implementation
NodeX Cloud deploys hardened pilot builds into three US partner environments and measures performance, resilience, and cost against centralised-cloud baselines. In parallel, NodeX and Bentley University co-develop a governance framework covering access rules, audit trails, and safety-by-design defaults. Structured US customer-discovery broadens the validation base, and working visits combine pilot work, partner workshops, and dissemination. Results feed the EIC Accelerator evidence package.
