Project duration November 2013 - May 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal of the Night of Impact was to highlight selected social entrepreneurs and help to identify development potential of these through a process of crowd-sourcing of ideas. This has been met in the three events, Night of Impact, with six social entrepreneurs and over 150 participants. Further, we wanted to identify markets where there are development opportunities for social entrepreneurs, these are markets for services aimed at supporting children and young people, and services aimed at improving and maintaining health and wellbeing.

Results and expected effects

At each event the entrepreneurs have received 2-6 concrete Action Plans with solutions to the challenges they presented. They have seen a direct value in attending, and expressed interest in further participation. Participants were people with different expertise, such as the public sector, social media and marketing strategy, finance, and various user groups. Through a Meeting Project we would be able to deepen the ideas and develop them into innovations, and to engage more stakeholders, such as municipalities and private sector actors.

Approach and implementation

The project focused on gathering knowledge and information through events focusing on social entrepreneurs and their current challenges. The entrepreneurs were invited under different themes - health, recycling, technology. It has been successful for all participants, however, it had been beneficial to the feasibility study if we had focused on one or two specific markets. The Innovation process has been tested and refined during the project. Participants were invited through our network and we see potential for more targeted invitation of selected interest groups.
